Happy Am I

Yesterday, as I arrived at the house, Renee and Robert had their family helping Miss Terry move her mother's belongings to the basement. It was so refreshing to see young people working so hard. They are blessed with 16 amazing kids (all of whom Renee birthed). I mentioned how impressed I was with their efforts. Renee responded by saying "Thank you. Would you like us to sing you a song?". I have never had a family offer to sing me a song I immediately told her I would love it. Hopefully you will find the video as cool as I found the live performance.

We Are Tennessee Home Owners!!

The closing finally happened yesterday. We are so excited to get our family into our new home. I will first post pics of the interior awesomeness then slowly add before and afters. This place was the dream home of a restaurant owner and was built in 1969. No expense was spared 41 years ago as they made this all brick home perfect. It is better built than any home we looked at but all the furnishings are 1969 chic.

Here are the general specs of the new Johnston home at Timber Terrace (so named by the original owners) in Maryville, Tennessee.

  • 2,546 square feet on the main level
  • 2,629 square feet in the unfinished basement (we plan to claim 1,600 as living space)
  • 3.996 acres of park like fabulosity <-- yes you can borrow that word
  • 35 dogwood trees both white and pink varieties
  • 18 floor to ceiling windows (natural light and views galore)
  • 1 incredible view of the Smoky Mountains
